Drinking Water Directive: TECO update

The EU Drinking Water Directive 2020/2184 and Commission Implementing Decision EU 2024/367 introduce new requirements for materials and products intended to come into contact with drinking water.
This is an important regulatory development for the entire hydronic and sanitary supply chain, placing particular emphasis on reducing lead content in alloys and ensuring the safety of components installed in water systems intended for human consumption.
TECO is following this transition with a planned and transparent approach, with the aim of ensuring supply continuity, technical clarity and support for its partners across the different European markets.
For the Italian market, TECO products currently in the catalogue benefit from the transition periods provided for by national regulations and can be used until 31 December 2030.
At the same time, for foreign markets with shorter implementation deadlines, TECO has already tested the new alloys compliant with the DWD and is ready to introduce them where required.
The TECO team remains available to support professionals in supply planning in view of the evolving regulatory framework.
